I've being asked by a branch manager of a local bank about the physical gold purity. How can he can make sure he buy a pure and not a forge gold? A very good question asked by a "Unit Trust" people.
Yes, there are several ways to test the purity of gold (i had discussed in my old entry together with tutorial). So i will narrow it down and make it as a main point only.
How to test purity of gold?
- Use density meter (Precious Metal Tester GK-2000)
- Use Acid nitric (gold will not react to acid nitric)
- Use gold tester needle
- Use magnet (gold not attract to magnet)
- Use black stone (rub the gold on that stone, suppose the color of gold still remain)
- Use digital scale and put the gold into water (refer to previous entry)
- Go to pawn shop and ask them to test
- Gold to any gold shop and ask them to test
- Use gold tester machine at Public Gold office when you collect the item
- Refer to the gold manufacturer certificate
